Bulent Kalpakligolu founder of Chateau Kalpak journey begins in 1991 after 21 years of living in US and Paris. Upon his return , he sought potential vineyard sites and decided to establish his dream ‘vineyard and winery’ in Sarkoy, Tekierdag. After experimenting with various root stocks, varieties and pruning system in about 1.5 hectares for more than decade, he established the main vineyard in 2006 with varieties imported from France. A state of the art gravity-fed winery was built in 2010 for the production of the ‘chateau wine only’, vineyard is located at the base of the Gallipoli peninsula in the Thrace region , between the Sea of Marmara and Sea of Aegean. The unique terroir of the vineyard is reflected in a deep flavours and aromas exhibited in each grape. First wine made in 2010 and released in 2013. The main motto is ‘Enjoy the gift of Nature’. Chateau Kalpak has been awarded as First and only Turkish producer to receive the maximum 3 stars rating from AWC Vienna Cheers to that!
